Picture Award at the 57th DMYKG annual meeting

Our masters student Özlem Kırav was awarded a picture award in the Photo contest at the 57th DMYKG annual meeting for her picture titled: "Dancing with a stranger"
The picture is a microscopic image of Candida albicans hyphae (green) invading vaginal epithelial cells (red) within a VVC-on-chip
model 24h post-infection. The red stain binds to the F-actin within the vaginal cells' cytoskeleton while the blue stain highlights the
nuclei of the cells.
