"Researchers from Jena want to take a stand against fungal infections"

| by Mark Gresnigt

Candida albicans colonizes the human body as a commensal. However, a weakened immune system can lead to serious Candida infections. In context of the Research award life sciences and physics from the Beutenberg Campus e.V. awarded to Mark Gresnigt, the Ostthüringer Zeitung published an article about our research. Topic of the article is how we investigate whether and how the fungus recognises a weakened immune system to promote its pathogenicity.
