Biotransformations

Many biosynthetic enzymes catalyze reactions that are difficult to emulate using classical chemical reagents. We study and elucidate the mode of action of mechanistically intriguing enzymes using recombinant techniques, mutagenesis and structural studies. Our goal is to apply biocatalysts in synthetic transformations.
