MicoCo and visit of Jason King

| by

Jason is group leader and Advanced Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of Sheffield, UK. He followed our invitation to speak in this semester's Microbial Communication Colloquium. After giving him a taste of downtown Jena the first evening, a visit to the optical museum was a must-see the next morning. The day was spent with discussion with members of our group and other group leaders at the HKI. Fortunately, there was still enough time for a small tour of the institute. In his talk, Jason taught us how Dictoytelium discoideum uses macropinocytosis to feed in liquid. And, we could actually see it in live-cell fluorescence microscopy. The discussion continued in the restaurant "Zur Noll". Thanks for coming and see you again soon!
