Endowed Professorship in Infection Immunology
The Carl Zeiss Foundation is funding an endowed professorship in Infection Immunology in Jena, focusing on the T-cell-mediated immune response to microbial infections, particularly those caused by human pathogenic fungi such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus. The aim is to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches based on T cells, thereby enabling innovative strategies against life-threatening infections. The professorship is interfaculty and closely connected to the Leibniz HKI and partners at the University and University Hospital Jena.
