Master thesis in 'Microbial Genetics'

We are seeking a highly motivated Master's student in the field of microbiology, molecular life sciences, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related discipline to join our team. The focus of the topic will be on the functional characterization of putative fungal virulence factors in the opportunistic human pathogen Fusarium using gene deletion, cell culture, and microscopy techniques. Ideal candidates should be enrolled in a relevant Master's program and possess skills in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning, as well as sterile techniques. Experience with cell culture methods is beneficial. You should also demonstrate strong communication, time management, and organizational abilities. We are an international and intrinsically motivated team. You will work closely together with a PhD student in the lab, nonetheless, we expect you to be responsible and thorough concerning your project, with the option to contribute with your own ideas and skills. Additionally, there is an opportunity for you to complete an internship semester before proceeding with your Master's thesis.
