At the International Leibniz Research School for Microbial and Biomolecular Interactions (ILRS) doctoral researchers aim at understanding and analysing microbial communication processes and interactions better. The structured PhD training of the ILRS at the HKI takes place in close collaboration with the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology. The PhD projects mainly focus on
- Interactions between micro-organisms
- Host/pathogen-interactions
- Analyses of networks and bioinformatics
The ILRS provides an excellent research environment to their doctoral researchers as well as a broad spectrum of scientific methods and transferable skills-workshops as well as the implementation into an international and communicative network of scientists.
The ILRS is part of the Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC), which was established in 2006 as the roof organisation for three already existing graduate schools.
