Antibiotics make way for fungal invasion in human gut

Scientists from the SBI group in collaboration with other researchers showed in their last publication -appearing in Microbiome under the title “Antibiotics create a shift from mutualism to competition in human gut communities with a longer-lasting impact on fungi than bacteria.” - That Antibiotics created an imbalance in the gut microbiome and that the Interplay between fungi and bacteria was impaired. The main findings of our researchers were summarized in this 1:18 min video byte.

The SBI findings are also podcasted in the "SWR2 Wissen" a documentation series in the radio program SWR2. Check it out here.
