As part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) MiCCrobioTackle, our partners at the HUN-REN in Szeged, Hungary are looking for 1 PhD student.
The Position:
We are seeking a PhD candidate to conduct biochemical and molecular research with direct clinical impact to investigate microbiome, inflammatory, and chemokyne markers associated with the progression of cachexia in cancer patients and therapy response.
The PhD will carry out the research program at the HUN-REN Biological Research Centre of Szeged and work in close collaboration with the Pulmonary Hospital Torokbalint, where a longitudinal clinical study in lung cancer patients has been initiated.
Desired profile:
- Proficiency in analytical methods such as ELISA and other Immunoassays
- Expertise in molecular biology methods (such as cytokine measurement from blood, RNA-DNA isolation)
- Bioinformatics skills (especially in metagenomic analysis), and experience in vitro and/or mouse experiments would be an advantage.
