Awards for MPM

At the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Scientific Conference of the German Mycological Society (DMykG), which took place in Mannheim from September 5th to 7th, 2019, there were not only many interesting scientific lectures and presentations, but also numerous honours were given.

Our postdoctoral Sascha Brunke awarded the Main Scientific Award 2019 (Forschungsföderpreis) of DMykG e.V. With this award DMykG honours members who have achieved outstanding, internationally recognized achievements in clinical and/or experimental research in the field of medical mycology.

Another prize was awarded to Dr. Lydia Kasper and PhD student Annika König. They received a prize for the best publication with the title "The fungal peptide toxin candidalysin activates the NLRP3 inflammasome and causes cytolysis in mononuclear phagocytes".

In addition, the three best fungal photographs were selected. Second prize went to our PhD student Marcel Sprenger.
