INFECTIONS'21

Start of a new Leibniz Research Alliance

| by Christine Vogler

The Leibniz Associations has granted funding to the newly established Leibniz Research Alliance „INFECTIONS’21 – Transmission Control of Infections in the 21th Century“. This interdisciplinary project carries out research on the control, prevention and therapy of infectious diseases. In addition to the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute, 13 other Leibniz Institutes and three external partners are involved. A total funding of 600.000 Euro for four years is granted.

Leibniz institutions form collaborative research alliances which use inter- and transdisciplinary approaches to address current scientific and socially-relevant issues.

The alliances are designed for a period of five to 15 years and are open for collaboration with universities, other non-university research institutions and infrastructure facilities as well as research groups abroad.
