Hajo Kries receives fellowship of the Daimler and Benz Foundation

Hajo Kries,head of the new junior reserach group Biosynthetic Design of Natural Products at the HKI, is awared one of the prestigious fellowships of the Daimler and Benz Foundation. The foundation will support him in building up his group with 40,000 € for two your for funding of equipment, research assistants and conference attendencs. And it will provide ample opportunities for interdisciplinary scientific exchange between all the fellows. Hajo Kries and his team will use this grant to nvestigate the modular pathways biosynthesizing nonribosomal peptides and to tailour novel enzymes for natural product synthesis.
