Meeting of the VAAM special group “Molecular Biology of Fungi”
From September 28-30, we welcome close to 200 scientists
Starting tomorrow, these researchers will exchange and discuss their latest results in the area of fungal biology and biotechnology. The three-day conference is a meeting of the special group of the German Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM).
A total of 35 talks will cover among others infection mechanisms of fungal pathogens and other exciting topics such as the role of fungi in ecological cycles. The tight schedule also includes presentations on fungal genetics and the biotechnological applications of fungi.
The scientific organization committee received more than 100 abstract submissions. In addition to the talks, young scientists will present posters with their exciting research projects on the diverse aspects of fungal biology. More than one third of the participants are master students or doctoral researchers. The scientific committee is especially happy that renowned international speakers will give key note lectures to share their research with the conference participants. The attendees look forward to talks by Hailing Jin (University of California), Michael Freitag (Oregon State University) and Joseph Heitman (Duke University).
