Welcome to the HKI!

Miriam Rosenbaum takes over as head of the Bio Pilot Plant

After working in the USA and Aachen, we are pleased to welcome Miriam Rosenbaum in Jena. Starting in autumn, she will lead the HKI Bio Pilot Plant and become professor for Synthetic Biotechnology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

Previously, the biotechnologist did research at the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University Ithaca in the USA. In the following years, she held a junior professorship in the field of Microbiology of Defined Mixed Cultures at the Institute of Applied Microbiology at RWTH Aachen University.

Miriam Rosenbaum is also on the board of directors of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology since 2014.

At the HKI, the head of the department will investigate microbiological interactions in order to make them usable for new biotechnological applications.

We wish Miriam Rosenbaum a successful start at the HKI!
