As new Professor for Translational Infection Research at the Jena University Hospital, Sebastian Weis is investigating both in the lab and in the clinic how the body protects itself against severe infections by adjusting metabolism in tissues and whether such mechansisms can be used for novel therapeutic approaches. The research group is associated to the Leibniz-HKI.
