We congratulate all authors of our latest paper, which is published as first release in Science! The title is "Natural products from reconstructed bacterial genomes of the Middle and Upper Paleolithic".
The groundbreaking achievement of this work was that the authors succeeded in providing a proof of concept for the potential use of ancient microbes as a source for new drugs. This work is a result of a transdisciplinary cooperation of scientists from fields such as archeology, bioinformatics, microbiology, chemistry, and biotechnology.
