Abstract

Urdamycin A, the principle product of Streptomyces fradiae Tü2717, is an angucycline-type antibiotic. The polyketide-derived aglycone moiety is glycosylated at two positions, but only limited information is available about glycosyltransferases involved in urdamycin biosynthesis.
