Antibiotics research and development programs depend on a continuous supply of active ingredients. While often only a few milligrams are available at the time of discovery, several kilograms of high-quality antibiotics are required for preclinical and clinical studies. This bridging is achieved through continuous further development of the manufacturing methods and procedures to produce the active compound.

For biotechnologically accessible starting products, we work closely together with the Bio Pilot Plant of the Leibniz-HKI. We carry out chemical syntheses ourselves on a laboratory scale, while we develop chemical processes together with industrial partners.
