Congrats, Thomas!

Annually, at their conference, the German Speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) grants the Young Scientist Award, a €2000 prize to researchers under 40. We're delighted to share that our colleague, Thomas Orasch, was the recipient of the 2022 edition held in Venna! Thomas' presentation focused on the utilization of nanoparticles for antifungal treatment and the exploration of how these particles amplify the effectiveness of antifungal agents. This forms the foundation of the ATHANA project, set to expand in the coming years.

Additionally, alongside Franziska Schmidt, Thomas conquered the third spot in the photo contest for their captivating fluorescence microscopic image depicting a macrophage adhering to Aspergillus fumigatus hyphae.
