Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research

The Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research (LPI) is one of three new projects in Germany in the frame of the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Together with the Leibniz-IPHT, the FSU Jena and the UKJ the Leibniz-HKI is the initiator of the LPI. By cooperation of the four partner institutions, the LPI bundles competences in photonics/optics and infection research. In the future, the LPI will be open to top researchers as well as users from industry and will accompany product developments for the diagnosis and therapy of infections all the way to application.
