Infectious diseases are one of the major causes of deaths worldwide. The consortium InfectControl 2020, which is funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research, unites scientists and companies from different fields develop novel strategies for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of infections.

The Trans-sectoral Research Platform (TFP) is a collaborative project within InfectControl 2020 that brings together young doctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds to tackle the societal challenges caused by infectious diseases. They work together in innovative multi-disciplinary projects at InfectControl 2020 partner locations all over Germany.

On March 17, 2015, the doctoral researchers and scientists involved in the TFP gather at the Hans Knöll Institute in Jena to celebrate the start of the project with the official kick-off meeting.
